Membership Eligibility Requirements

Membership Type  Description 
Active Membership  Any person with a medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent degree) or student currently enrolled for a medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent degree).

 

 

Membership Dues
Active Members = $299 per calendar year
Resident/Fellows = $15 per calendar year
Medical Students = $15 per calendar year
Associate Membership  Any person without a medical degree that has a demonstrated interest in the education of physicians or medical students in anesthesiology. Associate members do not have voting rights in the association.

Associate Members = $299 per calendar year
International Membership  International membership is available to colleagues outside the United State and Canada.

International Members = $30 per calendar year (USD)
Emeritus Membership  Any person who has been a member for ten continuous years and is retired may request a change in status from "Member" to "Emeritus Member." This may be done by giving notice to the Board of Directors in writing or by fax, e-mail, or other electronic media. Approval shall be by separate majority votes of both the Membership Committee and the Board of Directors. "Emeritus Members" shall not pay dues nor hold office, but shall have all other rights and privileges of members.

Reasons to Join SEA

  1. To keep personally informed about and learn new teaching techniques that are available to facilitate anesthesia education at all training levels: medical students, residents, fellows, and in continuing medical education.
  2. To network with other educators with similar ideas and exchange educational ideas and experiences.
  3. For mentorship opportunities; both to seek a mentor and to serve as a mentor in your educational specialty.
  4. Participation in the ongoing compilation of educational materials for utilization by other educators in anesthesia teaching experiences.
  5. For critique and revision of educational venues, simulation techniques, assessment modalities that you are developing.
  6. As a forum to introduce your trainees (medical students, residents, and fellows) to an international venue to propagate anesthesia education.
